Jan van Scorel 1495 – 1562 Madonna with wild rosesoil on panel (52 × 44 cm) — c. 1530
This Madonna was probably made during Van Scorel's Haarlem period. From 1527 he worked in Haarlem because of political unrest in Utrecht. In 1530 he returned to Utrecht. One of his pupils in Haarlem was Maarten van Heemskerck, who may have collaborated in the making of this panel. Originally the panel was higher, with a rounded top. Rate this work of art: |
