Tobias wants to wash his feet in the water when a fish leaps out of it, scaring the young boy. His companion, the angel, tells him to catch the fish and to remove its gall-bladder, heart and liver. Later Tobias will use the gall-bladder to cure his father's blindness. This drawing was previously attributed to Rembrandt. An almost identical drawing is in the Louvre. |
