After their adventure, the angel Raphael has made himself known to Tobias and his family. Out of emotion they throw themselves to the ground. The angel says they have nothing to fear, and flies away.

Tobit (Tobias' father) still looks at the ground. His wife Anna turns her gaze away. Tobias and his wife Sarah look in awe at the angel.

This is somewhat less known panel by Rembrandt. His name and the year 1637 are on the stone in the lower left corner.
