The way king David raises his hands suggests he is somewhat agitated. Next to him is a scroll with a Hebrew text written on it: "and the Eternal spoke to Moses, saying". It is a common phrase in the five first books of the Bible. De Gelder paid much attention to David's robe and turban. |
