This is one of five statues Donatello made for the bell tower of the Florence cathedral, the Duomo. It is now in the cathedral's museum.

It is commonly known as Lo Zuccone: pumpkin, bald-head.

Another work in the series is the statue of the Prophet Jeremiah.
