Christ before Pontius Pilate (Matthew 27:11-26; Mark 15:2-15; Luke 23:2-7, 23:13-25; John 18:28 - 19:16). Pontius Pilate was a Roman governor of Judea, one of the provinces in occupied Palestine. Jewish priests brought Jesus before Pilate and accused him of causing rebellion.
