The life of the prophet Elijah is threatened by Izebel, who has already had hundreds of Elijah’s colleagues killed. The disheartened Elijah withdraws, to fall asleep under a tree, hoping to never wake up again. But an angel (a messenger from God) wakes him and feeds him.

This tapestry is made from linen, wool and silk. It is one of the few surviving tapestries by De Raet.
